"The Spa at Wellington" offers both professional grooming and a self-bathing area in our Grooming Salon. The Grooming Salon has a separate entrance on the east side of the building.

Professional grooming offers many benefits including keeping your pet's coat, skin and ears in good condition, increased comfort and social acceptability, and eliminating pet odor. Frequent and regular grooming makes your pet feel better too and has definite health benefits in less skin and allergy problems.

GROOMING SERVICES:

We offer a basic bath and brush that includes bathing with pet formulated shampoo, drying with a brush out, toe nail trim, ear cleaning, and anal gland expression.

We also offer full service grooming including everything stated above plus a custom design cut to your specifications, including body shaves and lion cuts. We also offer flea baths and tick dips as needed.

Our groomer is trained with years of experience and certification as a certified massage practitioner. Massage therapy offers benefits in relaxation, improving blood flow, faster healing after major surgery, and helping geriatric patients reduce pain of arthritis. We offer other spa services such as shed-less treatments, special shampoos and conditioners, facial scrubs and paw treatments. A Day at the Spa might be just what your precious pooch needs!

Grooming Policies:

Grooming services are available by appointment. Please call ahead to schedule an appointment.

Grooming charges are based on the size of your dog, its breed, current coat condition and degree of matting, and specialized grooming needs unique to your pet. Grooming can be scheduled as part of your boarding package as well. Grooming discounts are available to our Luxury Lodging guests.

Drop Off and Pick Up Times

Grooming pets should be dropped off on the day of their appointment depending on their scheduled grooming time. The groomer will meet with you to discuss any special needs you may have. You should plan to pick up your pet after 3:00 pm but before closing time at the end of the day.

Medical and Vaccination requirements

For your pet's safety and the safety of our other guests, we require that all grooming pets be current on vaccinations and free from internal and external parasites at the time of grooming.

If Wellington Veterinary Clinic has not provided these services, you will need to provide written proof that your pet is current on the following:

Dogs Requirements:

• Rabies
• DHLPP
• Bordetella (Kennel cough)
• Heartworm prevention and tested negative within the past 12 months.
• Parasite-free fecal test within 6 months
• Free from external parasites or on flea prevention

Cats Requirements:

• Rabies
• FVRCP
• Parasite-free fecal test within 6 months
• Free from external parasites or on flea prevention

We reserve the right to refuse grooming to any pet that does not meet these requirements.

Payment Policy

Payment in full is due at the time of pick-up. We encourage you to ask for an estimate of the grooming services so that you are prepared when you arrive for pick up. We accept cash, checks with valid ID or driver's license, and credit cards; Master Card, Visa, and Discover.

Our Sedation Policy

We do not sedate our grooming patients unless absolutely necessary to prevent injury to the pet from excessive movement or to calm aggressive pets. We will not sedate without your permission. Sedated patients are monitored by the doctor or a registered veterinary technician.

SELF-BATHING

In addition to professional grooming, we now offer a self-serve bathing area where you can bathe your own dog using our comfortable walk-up bath tub. We provide the water, shampoo formulated for dogs, towels, clean brushes and you do the rest. Optional drying cage is available for faster drying.

No appointment is needed. This is a walk-in service.

In order to protect your dog and our guests, dogs using this service should be current on vaccinations and parasite free.
